It's too bad I haven't spent the time this year to learn the ins and outs of my MIDI to CV converter, or the sequencing program I was going to use. Maybe someday...
I'm in on this. I used to participate in a lot of Sony Music remix contests. I never won anything, but I don't think I did too bad. I generally got good feedback. I'm only hindered by using free digital music software.
I actually have a remix finished that I'm satisfied with... kind-of. I don't like how the end of the song goes, but the song is finished enough that I can submit it. I'm just not sure what I wanna do for an end.
Anyhow, are we allowed to post our remixes on sites like myspace or acidplanet for feedback?

I'm a bit astonished with myself: I made a remix. But I have no idea how good it is since it's the first one I have ever done. I doubt it's album material, and I probably won't even submit the mix, but it was nonetheless fun to make. I uploaded the remix to YouSendIt and I'd appreciate some critiques.

I enjoyed your mix. The ending sounded nice to me. I wish I could figure out how to use Buzz that well! I've tried in the past but never could create anything good with it, but most of that is due to having no good ideas.
My weak point is drums: I don't have good samples and I don't know how to make good beats (or beats better than "oom - tss - oom - tss"). This is why I used only the beat included with Joey's samples and looped the end part over and over...(snore)
The thing about Buzz, it is a VERY difficult program to learn. It has taken me literally YEARS to get as good as I've gotten with the program. And I STILL don't know what all the machines do lol.
But the program is just... *INGENIOUS*
Someone developed a digital music program where, you can design a machine yourself, throw the object file into the program folder, and you have a new machine. Not to mention how you can chain things together.
here's a screen-shot of the project. Notice the insane amount of connections lol.
The key to buzz is effects, effects, effects!!! Chain as many as you can.

Hey! I like your suffer remix! Sounds pretty cool!
Are you the former "Nate" from the Forum?
I think I have your "NathanielJames" CD
in my CD collection!

Btw Jonodude, not bad for a first mix. I remember when I did my first remix; it was a Garbage song. I didn't win but I had fun making it.

Hi Phil,
I'm actually not Nate. I've only dabbled in trying to produce music. I do know there is a problem with song here where I need to work on mastering the sound. I hate my headphones because the song sounds like the way I want it to sound. But playing it through my car stereo.... NO WAY! But mastering has always been my downfall of getting a good sound :/
Does anyone have any good suggestions for mastering and equalizing? I guess my headphones can handle bass REALLY well. The song sound perfectly fine. Then when I play the song through a pair of speakers, the bass is too rumbly.

your remix is the first one submitted and it's great! WHen I get a bunch I'll start making them available to download and vote. The deadline is the end of the year. Multiple submissions are welcome.

Wow Nebloof. That was a pretty quick turnaround for such a great mix.
Work permitting (and it won't be) I'm hoping to knock off one or two mixes for this. But don't hold me to that. Being a government contractor is stressful. LOL
