Usually Joey is the first to break the news about a new EG song... usually here or on Myspace...

Did this one "leak out" ???

Go EG!

Wow, I guess this forum is as good as dead - a new EG song shows up, and no responses in over 2 months.

Anybody still around? Anybody know what's going on with the new record? What's the preferred way to get band news now?(Twitter or Facebook? Ugh.)

'net streaming music' means that I won't listen to it much; hard to incorporate a flash-player URL into my MP3 playlists. Which sucks for me.

I've been watching their twitter, and my sister watches Facebook.
Facebook seems to have more updates, I just don't know how useful they are. There was a twitter post on Jan 16th talking about finishing up some tracks... That's really all I know. (I'm more concerned about Autobahn 2010 at this point--only a month or two till that should happen, if it happens)

Anyone else know what's going on over on Facebook?

I really don't follow Facebook or Twitter (don't have an account on either). MySpace was my concession to the "new" way of keeping up with band news, but that seems to have fallen out of favor for most bands in favor of Facebook and Twitter. As a result, I'm finding it really difficult and frustrating trying to keep up with even the most basic news from artists I like (CD releases, tour dates) - I seem to stumble across that kind of info by accident more often than not now.

Roger that; I joined MySpace specifically to d/l the "radio edit" of Seaside.

I don't have an account on twitter or FB, but I do remember about the twitter feed every now & then and go to the page manually. I'm very glad Twitter is 'public' that way, unlike FB. ( IMO: 'Net + privacy == confusing!!! )

Speaking of news, I need to see if there's been any mention anywhere of an Autobahn this year... I mean, it's only a month till the usual date (though last year's was late)...

They recorded "Cry Baby", the Love Association song. Not sure if it's for EG album or for Love Association.

I'm pretty surprised about not having Facebook accounts, just because they're so ubiquitous. I have one, but it's not the best venue for keeping up with bands, I don't think. Myspace still really owns that, I think, and while it's fallen out of favor for personal profiles, it's still the place for music.

You guys make the case, again, for using RSS aggregators, actually. Smile [Google Reader in plain english] If you don't want twitter accounts, you can still aggregate tweets by RSS. Same for Myspace blogs. Then there's the trusty email lists, most bands still seem to use those.

[ED: This thread was split to here for the social web topic]
